About the course
The Korean for Beginners course is designed for students who wish to learn Korean from scratch. The course introduces learners to the specifics of the Korean language, grammar, and pronunciation. Throughout the course, students expand their vocabulary through listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course focuses on topics related to everyday life and familiarizes students with simple expressions used in conversational Korean. In addition to acquiring preliminary linguistic knowledge, participants are also introduced to the culture and history of Korea developing an understanding of the Korean culture. At the end of the course, participants will have acquired practical knowledge for written and oral communication in Korean.
Learning objectives
By the end of the course, students will acquire the following skills:
- Reading-Understanding: Students should be able to read and understand texts about people, their occupation, profession and hobbies, as well as texts about the weather and routine activities.
- Listening-Comprehension: Students should be able to listen and comprehend short informational texts and complete tasks that test their comprehension.
- Speaking: Students should be able to make small talk on personality, age, profession, hobbies, and living spaces. They should be able to speak about everyday situations and give directions for getting to a certain place.
- Writing: Students should be able to write a short essay about themselves and their families using present, past, and future tenses. Students should be able to describe their surrounding and write postcard messages and notes.

Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays from 6:30pm to 9:30
Saturdays 11:00pm to 1:00pm
Duration: 36 hours – 18 sessions
